An Introduction to Empathy-Centered Design Thinking: The WHY of a Makerspace (All Content Areas)

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Feedback form is now closed.
In this 60-minute thrillride, teachers will get exposed to empathy-centered design thinking through a very simple exercise that works well in nearly every content area and age. Teachers will leave the workshop knowing how to run this activity in their own classes and makerspaces. Further, we will explore empathy centered design thinking as the “why” behind a makerspace, giving an instructional tool and language that is approachable to teachers of any experience level with making, or designing and prototyping. This technique works well with makerspaces that have low tech tools and objects, as well as high tech.
